Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving this year was at our house. It was nice to have everyone at our house and they didn't have to travel 600 miles to see us! What a blessing to be back! We split up who cooked what so I didn't have to do all of it which made it very nice. We had lots of yummy food, and plenty of left overs. My grandfather (Papa) was even able to come. He just turned 93!!  I have also started a kind of weird tradition and it was our third year to do it. After we all eat lunch we play a game of madlibs. The story always has something to do with Thanksgiving or Christmas. Its fun because we go around the room and each person gets to choose a word. It always gets great laughs. Then after madlibs we bring our the newspaper with all the ads and let our food settle and enjoy looking at the paper. This year we also had a great time playing with the Kinect. Which I want one now! I'm really enjoying that people can come over to our house and hang out now, especially family and its not just on special holidays!!

FREE!!!!

You know me I love a bargain and recently I have really been looking on Shutterfly for different Christmas gifts. I recently got a photo book from them by using a promo code that they sent me in an email. I got a free 8X8 photo book with 20 pages. All I had to pay for was shipping. It worked out perfectly for when Amber was born. I was able to pictures up of all the family that was able to hold her for the first time. I also have some gifts I will be getting from there to give at Christmas time. They have some cute things you can personalize with a picture.

So right now they are giving 50 free photo Christmas cards if you blog about there site. I'm excited because at Thanksgiving I'm hoping to get a good picture of us to use for a Christmas card. Check out shutterfly today for many ideas and awesome deals!!!

Also here is the link to the Christmas card deals. FREE!! And here is the link to the Christmas cards, which I love. They have so many cute designs. Christmas cards

Songs that make me think...

I have heard some pretty cheesy songs on KLove in my lifetime I will admit. But recently there are some that have stood out to me that could totally be played on a secular station. They don't "sound" like the cheesy songs that we sometimes here. Now you might have a different opinion and think they are still cheesy but I thought I would just share with you some songs that I have really enjoyed lately and some of them have really made me stop and think especially JJ Heller's song.

Enjoy!

My lil Cheerleader

Awhile back at a consignment sale I found a little memphis cheerleading outfit for Amber for just 5 bucks! At the time I just thought how cute and I can't pass this up because those things can be expensive. I didn't even think about a halloween costume, until a little later and thought hmmm she can just be that!

So I didn't think anymore about it until we started talking about it a couple of days before halloween and we thought oh we should go with a theme! Ricky already has a basketball jersey so at first I just said she could be your little cheerleader. Then I thought, hey I don't want to be left out! So we came up with I could be the Tiger. I thought surely I can find some ears and a tail somewhere even though its 2 days before halloween. When it was all said and done I went to about 7 different places and nada, nothing, zero tiger stuff!!!! There was plenty of other costume from monsters to lady gaga (well I guess that's the same category:) ) so from monsters to sweet, cute animal costumes. I was soooo frustrated and just thought oh well I guess I won't be anything. But we found out that our friend Josh's family had an entire Tiger costume! He had to go through the attic to find it but it was still there and in ok condition. Ricky decided to be the Tiger and I was the basketball player and then we had our little cheerleader! Our families loved it but unfortunately when went trick or treating no one really got it!

Anyway, we are wondering if we have started a tradition now and have to have a theme each year!? Who knows!
